  1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file containing information related to multiple variables, such as the number of times the page has been visited by the user, identifying the registered user, ensuring the user’s session while browsing the page, allowing operations to be performed securely and stably, etc. These files are stored on the User’s terminal through the browser and communicate with web pages to personalize browsing based on the information provided.

Along with cookies, other technologies are also used, such as pixel tags, which allow, through electronic images, usually of minimal size, to count page views or access cookies. The pixel tags used do not collect, monitor, or share personal information of the user, having a merely technical analytical function of an anonymous nature. Another example of these technologies is web beacons, which are used to collect certain information such as IP addresses, the time of content viewing, the type of browser, or cookies previously installed on the server.

The cookies used on the Portal do not by themselves reveal personal information. Their analytical purpose uses identifiers, including IP, with the sole purpose of identifying the number of unique visitors to the website, their geographical origin, or their web usage trends, but do not personally identify the User.

  1. Types of cookies

Below we provide information about the types of cookies used on our website:

2.1. According to the entity that manages them

Depending on the entity managing the domain from which the cookies are sent and the data obtained is processed, we can distinguish:
First-party cookies: These are those sent to the user’s terminal from domains managed by PAYTEF as the publisher of the website.
Third-party cookies: These are those sent to the user’s terminal from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity.

2.2. According to the period of time they remain active on the terminal

Session cookies: These are a type of cookies designed to collect and store data while the user accesses the Portal. As their name indicates, these cookies are stored on your terminal until the user’s browsing session ends.

Persistent cookies: These are a type of cookies in which the data remains stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie controller, which can range from a few minutes to several years.

2.3. According to their purpose

Strictly necessary cookies: These are those that allow the user to navigate through the Portal and use the different options or services that are available, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the type of browser, identifying the session, accessing restricted access areas, using the services made available to the User, using security elements during browsing, identifying user preferences, or sharing content through social networks. This type of cookies improves the user experience by optimizing performance based on the information collected.

Targeted cookies: these are those that allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces included on the Portal. These cookies store information about user behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.

Performance cookies: these are a type of cookies designed and used for tracking and analyzing user behavior. This type of cookies offers the website owner the measurement of activity on the website through aggregated or statistical information. On the PAYTEF Portal, analytical cookies, both our own and third-party, session and persistent, are used for this purpose.

Functionality cookies: these are those that allow information to be remembered so that the user accesses the service with certain characteristics that can differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as language, the number of results to display when the user performs a search, the appearance or content of the service depending on the type of browser through which the user accesses the service or the region from which they access the service, etc.

Social media cookies: these cookies are set by a number of social media services that we have added to the site to allow you to share our content through the networks. These cookies are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and creating a profile of your interests. This could modify the content and messages you find on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies, you will not be able to see or use these sharing tools.

  1. Who uses the cookies?

The information collected through the cookies downloaded from the PAYTEF Portal is used by the website owner, PAYTEF, and occasionally by third parties. All information regarding who uses the cookies can be obtained in the cookie configuration panel accessible at all times from the Portal.
